 Former Education CS George Magoha has passed away. The former Education CS died at a Nairobi hospital on Tuesday.  His death comes a few days after he lost his brother. The brother was also a professor. The brother's burial was set for this Saturday. Who is Magoha Prof Magoha who is an alumnus of DR Livingstone Primary School and Starehe Boys Centre and School graduated from Strathmore College and the University of Lagos, Nigeria with a Bachelor's Degree in Medicine. His journey to greatness began as an intern and rose to senior resident and clinical lecturer in surgery at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital before joining the University of Nairobi in 1988, where he became a full professor in 2000. Maize prices goes down

Kenya Farmers Association (KFA) director Kipkorir Menjo confirmed farmers had released their produce to the market after the busy harvesting and festive season. Menjo dismissed claims by Trade Cabinet Secretary (CS) Moses Kuria that farmers were hoarding maize.

That was not possible then since maize harvesting and drying take time. There was no hoarding, the maize had to be harvested and dried to attain the correct moisture content," Menjo said.


The price of a 90kg bag of maize at the farm gate has reduced from KSh 5,000 in December 2022 to KSh 4,800 Millers have reported an increase in the availability of the commodity in the market, signalling a relief for consumers ahead of February imports. “The prices have moved down in the last couple of weeks and we are paying KSh 5,000 when delivered to us at the gate and KSh 4,800 when we buy directly from the farms,” Atin Aggarwal, the chief executive of Trident Millers said.

Mithika Linturi assures Kenyans prices will go down On Tuesday, January 3, Agriculture Cabinet Secretary (CS) Mithika Linturi assured Kenyans unga and rice prices will go down by the end of February.

 Linturi said the drop in prices will be occasioned by the imports that the government is planning to do to cushion Kenyans. "We are going to import maize and rice, the projections are so bad that if we do not, our people will die of lack of food," Linturi said. According to the CS, the imports will bridge the gap that had been left by the mitigation measures they had placed as a government.
